1. Statement of Open Access
The Verdict Voices Law Journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. This policy is designed to maximize the reach and impact of legal scholarship published within these volumes.
2. Copyright and Licensing Terms
2.1 Ownership of Content: All published manuscripts, editorials, graphics, logos, website content, and journal compilations remain protected under the Copyright Act, 1957. Copyright in individual manuscripts remains with the respective authors unless otherwise agreed.
2.2 Permitted Use: Users may access, download, and reproduce material exclusively for personal research, educational, and non-commercial purposes, provided proper acknowledgment is given.
2.3 Copyright Compliance: Users shall comply with all applicable intellectual property laws when accessing or using the Journal's content. Any use of published material beyond the scope of fair dealing under applicable copyright law, including reproduction, distribution, adaptation, or commercial exploitation, requires the prior written consent of the copyright holder or the Journal, as applicable.
2.3 Acknowledgment and Fair Use: Users may quote or reference limited portions of the Journal's published content for academic, research, educational, or non-commercial purposes, provided that proper acknowledgment is given to the original author and Verdict Voices Law Journal. Any reproduction beyond fair use requires prior written permission from the Editorial Board.
2.5 Citation Standards: Any quotation or reference to published work must be accurately cited in accordance with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st Edition) or any citation style prescribed by the Journal.
2.6 Prohibited Conduct: Unauthorized reproduction, commercial exploitation, plagiarism, modification, or redistribution of Journal content without prior written permission is strictly prohibited and may invite appropriate legal action.
3. Archiving & Preservation
The Verdict Voices Law Journal is committed to the long-term preservation of its digital content. We utilize a multi-faceted archiving strategy, involving institutional repositories and digital library partnerships, to ensure that scholarly articles remain accessible even in the event of platform shifts. This commitment ensures the enduring availability of research for future legal practitioners and scholars.
4. Publication Fees (APCs)
The Verdict Voices Law Journal operates as a non-profit academic initiative. As part of our commitment to equitable open access, we do not charge authors any Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees. The cost of publication and digital hosting is supported through academic grants and institutional sponsorship, ensuring that high-quality legal research is never barred by financial constraints.
